Conditions for additional warranty
This additional warranty applies only to products for which an additional warranty has been offered and is stated on the invoice. The additional warranty is in addition to any manufacturer's warranty.
1. Warrantor and Applicability
- The additional warranty is provided by Horeca.com.
- The additional warranty applies exclusively to products sold to you by Horeca.com and delivered and used in the Netherlands.
- The additional warranty applies to manufacturing/construction defects and/or defects in material and workmanship, provided that these defects are the result of a defect that arose during normal use and in accordance with the usage and maintenance instructions, and cannot be explained by normal wear and tear.
- Unless otherwise stipulated in this additional warranty, the handling (repair/replacement, procedure and any steps to be followed) shall take place in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer/supplier and/or the service partner.
2. Duration and start date
- You choose an additional warranty period of 1, 2 or 3 years, as indicated at the time of purchase.
- The additional warranty commences on the day the manufacturer's warranty period ends (or, if no manufacturer's warranty applies: on the day of purchase/delivery as stated on your invoice).
- The additional warranty continues until the end of the chosen period and ends automatically without extension thereafter.
- If parts are replaced or work is performed, an additional/new warranty period may apply (depending on the performer) to the replaced part and/or the work performed, but only within the scope of this additional warranty.
3. What happens in the event of a covered defect?
- In the event of a covered defect, Horeca.com will arrange for repair and/or replacement.
- The solution chosen (repair, replacement, or other reasonable warranty handling) depends on the nature of the defect and the options available at the manufacturer/supplier/service partner.
- Replacement may take place with a new or equivalent part/product.
4. What is not covered by the extended warranty?
No entitlement to the extended warranty exists for defects or damage caused (in part) by one or more of the following situations:
- Normal wear and tear, including (where applicable) wear of parts such as blades/seals/scrapers and similar parts.
- Improper use or use that does not comply with the operating and maintenance instructions, or use in combination with defective/improperly connected systems.
- Lack of or improper maintenance, or negligent maintenance.
- Incorrect storage, handling, or operating conditions by you.
- Assembly/installation/repair/disassembly by third parties (or by you) without the prior written consent of the manufacturer/supplier or Horeca.com.
- External causes/influences, such as chemical or electrochemical influences, electrical influences, overvoltage, or similar causes, insofar as the cause is not attributable to a manufacturing/construction defect or material and workmanship defect.
- Problems caused by auxiliary equipment/external devices that were not supplied by the manufacturer/supplier and are not intended for use with this product.
- Defects related to materials/parts supplied by you or materials/constructions applied on your instructions.
- Situations in which you do not (fully) cooperate with proper warranty handling or do not fulfill your obligations as stated below under “Warranty claims”.
5. Warranty claims: reporting, information and time limits
- You must report a defect as soon as possible after you discover it or should reasonably have discovered it.
- Submission and handling time limits may apply (depending on the manufacturer/supplier/service partner). You must adhere to those deadlines in any case.
- To process your claim, you must provide (at a minimum):
- type and serial number (or manufacturing number);
- proof of purchase (copy of the purchase invoice);
- brief description of the problem + photos/visual material where helpful;
(to the best of your knowledge) when the defect occurred and how it was discovered.- Horeca.com may request additional information necessary for assessment (e.g. error codes, operating conditions, photos of nameplate/parts).
6. Handling: investigation, repair and/or replacement
- Horeca.com assesses (or has assessed) whether the defect falls under the additional warranty.
- Where necessary, an investigation may take place at the manufacturer/supplier/service partner or in a process designated by them.
- If the defect does not fall under the additional warranty or cannot be sufficiently substantiated, the application may be handled as unfounded.
7. Submitting/shipping parts or product
- If submission is required, send the defective product/part to the location designated by Horeca.com according to the instructions you receive from Horeca.com.
- You must carefully pack and ship the product/part following the procedure indicated by Horeca.com.
- Return/authorization details and any return notification will be provided by Horeca.com or the contractor as applicable.
8. Costs: shipping and handling
- Shipping costs are always at your expense, unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance.
- If the manufacturer/supplier/service partner reimburses costs in the context of warranty handling, those costs will be passed on in accordance with the method applied by the service provider.
- Costs arising from causes on your part (for example, extra actions due to negligence, failure to follow instructions, incorrect packaging or shipping) may be at your expense.
9. Cooperation
- You cooperate in proper warranty handling by providing information in a timely manner, following instructions, and (where necessary) enabling inspection.
- If you intervene in the product (or allow intervention) without prior written consent before the warranty handling is completed, this may affect your claim.
10. Settlement and (potential) ownership of replaced parts
In the event of repair/replacement, warranty processing may entail the transfer of defective or replaced parts to the service provider.
The exact practical handling of this follows the working method of the service provider (manufacturer/supplier/service partner) as applied in the warranty procedure.
11. Concurrence with manufacturer's warranty and statutory rights
The additional warranty is an extension on top of the manufacturer's warranty.
The manufacturer's warranty conditions remain decisive for the content and handling insofar as this is not in conflict with this additional warranty.
Statutory rights (such as rights regarding non-conformity) remain unaffected.
